Former Head Coach of Nigeria Professional Football League club, Abia Warriors, Coach Abdullahi Biffo, has opted out of joining new coach Rafael Everton’s backroom staff ahead of next season.

A close friend to the media-friendly coach, confirmed the news to in Abuja, saying the coach has now reversed his earlier decision to join the Brazilian coach in Abia.

“Biffo is currently clubless and will assess all offers that will come his way. He’s currently on holiday and will not join Everton and Abia Warriors ahead of the new season.

“He’s a coach that can deliver at the top level, so I see no reason why he should play second fiddle in a club he helped remain in the elite League,” the close friend said.

Abdullahi Biffo, who has been touted to land one of the vacant national team jobs, led the Abia-based club to a 12th place finish in the 2016/2017 NPFL season where they racked up 53 points from 38 games.
