The British High Commissioner in Nigeria, Mr. Paul Arkwright believes the Super Eagles of Nigeria have sent a resounding warning to the rest of the world after their 4-2 drubbing of two-time world champions, Argentina on Tuesday, can report.

Nigeria came from two goals down after Ever Banega and Sergio Aguero had put the Jorge Sampoli-tutored side ahead before Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho reduced the deficit just before the break, while further goals from Alex Iwobi (brace) and substitute Brian Idowu completed the turnaround.

Arkwright tweeted afterwards that “With the resounding victory against Argentina on Tuesday, the @NGSuperEagles have sent a clear statement of intent for #Russia2018”.

“Remains to be seen, which team apart from @England can stop them lifting the trophy,” Arkwright said.

Nigeria last faced the Three Lions of England at the 2002 World Cup in Korea/Japan which ended in a stalemate and might be drawn in the same group with England after been seeded in Pot 4 ahead of the draw on December 1 in Russia.
