Former Super Eagles’ goalkeeper, Ike Shorounmu, has thrown his weight behind the five countries that will be representing Africa in next year’s World Cup in Russia.

Shorounmu told that most of the countries that will be going to Russia, except Nigeria, know they’ve missed a lot haven been out of the World Cup for many years.

The former Sunshine Stars goalkeeper trainer also noted that the Jubilation in Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt shows that this great footballing nations are back to reclaim their seats among the top teams in Africa, stressing that he personally believes that things are changing in African football.

“The teams that qualified from Africa prepared themselves and got the ticket through hard work during the qualifiers.

“These countries know they have missed a lot during the times they couldn’t feature at the World Cup, so you can see why they are jubilating so much.

“So, if any team underrates teams from Africa, they would be doing that at their own peril,” Shorunmu concluded.
