Super Eagles’ winger, Victor Moses returned to the starting lineup for the first time in 10 games and produced two assists as champions Chelsea came from behind to beat Newcastle United by 3-1, can report.

The visitors took a surprise lead in the 12th minute when Gayle pounced on a shot spilt by Thibaut Courtois but Chelsea responded well shen Hazard levelled in the 21st minute.

Chelsea continued to threaten and Morata headed in from Moses’ cross just after the half-hour mark to put the hosts 2-1 in front.

Newcastle struggled to mount a comeback and Chelsea’s pressure eventually paid off as Ritchie fouled Victor Moses in the box and Hazard calmly chipped the penalty in, sending Darlow the other way.

Moses, who returned for the first time after the defeat to Crystal Palace, should have scored a goal for himself but saw his effort well saved by the goalkeeper and had another goal-bound attempt blocked by a defender towards the closing minutes of the match.

The Nigerian was on for all 90 minutes and had a game rating of 7.8 while also completing 85.2% of his passes, creating one big chance, won 9 duels contested. He was fouled 4 times, made 2 interceptions and 3 tackles.
