Former Super Eagles’ player, Monday Odigie has said that the proposed friendly games between Serbia, Poland and England will be of immense benefit to the Super Eagles and will help keep them in competition mode ahead of the World Cup in Russia.

The former Nigeria U-23 Assistant Coach told that playing more friendly games will help improve the team, noting that the players that prosecuted the World Cup qualifiers should form the fulcrum of the team that will go to Russia.

“Obviously, teams like Poland, Serbia and England will help Nigeria in no small measure, and will also help the country to improve ahead of the biggest football showpiece in the world.

“Playing more friendly games will help the coaches get ready and define their strategy for the World Cup. For the players, I think those that prosecuted the qualifiers should be integral members of the team that will be going to Russia, while others who are in top form should be added during the final selection. We must however go to Russia with our best.”
