Lobi Stars of Markurdi and Home-based Eagles’ striker, Anthony Okpotu, has declared he is fit and and ready to lead Nigeria’s attack line in Morocco next month when the CHAN tournament kicks off.

The striker, who spoke to after his outstanding performance at the just concluded NPFL Super Six tournament in Kano, where he scored a brace in the final to help the team clinch the trophy, said he has had a very fine preseason and looks sharper and ready to fire from all angles.

“Last season was a very good one for me and I know it will not be easy to replicate that same form, but I have had a very good preseason and right now, I am in top shape and will take my chances when the competition begins.

“Obviously, I am excited to have  scored a brace in the final, that shows the team is getting ready for the tournament proper. I believe the squad is a solid one and we can make the country proud in Morocco next month,” said Okpotu.

When quizzed if he was planning life away from Lobi Stars or still wants to remain with the Markurdi-based club, Okpotu said:

“I owe Lobi Stars everything right now. I am still their player till the right offer comes because they have been instrumental in my career and I will remain with them till I am convinced its time to move on”.
