Nigerian international Joel Chukuma Obi continued his claim for a place back into the Super Eagles when he scored his third goal of the season in as many games to help Torino draw 1-1 with fellow Seria A side Sassuolo away from home, AOIFootball.com can report.
The 26- year- old former Inter Milan midfielder opened scoring for the away side in the 26th minute after Sossuolo failed to clear their lines from a free- kick.
Obi’s goal was the only positive of a drab first half as Torino went into the half with a slim lead.
However, with 10 minutes into the second half, the home side drew level when Domenico Berardi equalized after been setup by Alfred Duncan, much to the delight of the home fans present at the Cotta del Tricolore.
The Nigerian was replaced in the 73rd minute by Cristian Ansaldi as Torino held on for a solitary point.
