Super Eagles’ right-back Tyronne Ebuehi has praised the quality of warm-up games the team will be engaging in, while also expressing his confidence in the current crop of players to deliver success to the nation at the mundial in June.
The 22-year- old, who spoke exclusively to from his base in Holland, said he was excited with the fixtures and can’t wait to wear the green and white of Nigeria again.
“I think the friendly games are great games in preparation for the World Cup. Countries such as Poland and England are great tests to see where we are at the moment.
“Wearing the national team jersey is an amazing feeling and I hope to be part of this games in the future,” Ebuehi said.
The ADO Den Haag defender however insisted that the friendly matches shouldn’t be a do-or-die affair as the team should see it a preparatory match rather than a must-win match.
“As a footballer, you always want to win games, but I don’t think it’s a must. I think it’s important to make a good preparation for the World Cup and show the people good football.
“We must prove to the world that our qualification was not a fluke and that we are ready for the World Cup,” Ebuehi concluded.
The young defender made his debut for Nigeria in 2017 and has 2 caps to his name.
