Home Based Super Eagles’ midfielder Dayo Ojo has expressed his delight in been able to help the team into the knock phase after coming from a goal down to beat Equatorial Guinea 3-1 on Tuesday night.
Ojo, who got the nod ahead of Kano Pillars midfielder Rabiu Ali, repaid the faith by Salisu Yusuf after delivering a man of the match performance.
The Sunshine Stars of Akure player who spoke to exclusively from the team’s base in Morocco said he was glad to deliver when it mattered most.
“Life itself is all about opportunity, when you miss it, you may not be able to get it again, but I thank God mine came and I took it.
“I was happy with the opportunity given to me by the coach, and thank God I was able to repay their faith with a good performance,” Ojo said.
The 23- year -old midfielder however admitted that scoring was the only thing he had in mind when he took the shot that led to the Eagles’ second goal.
“To score of course, and good for me I applied the right technique because we needed to win the game,” the midfielder concluded.
