Plateau United have returned to the summit of the Nigeria Professional Football League table after an impressive 3-0 win against visiting El-Kanemi Warriors in a match day 4 encounter on Wednesday, reports.
Jimmy Ambrose opened scoring for the Peace Boys at the second minute, while Joshua Obaje doubled the goal margin six minutes later. Raphael Ayagwa then made sure of all three points and progression for Plateau United, as he got his second goal of the season two minutes after the break.
Meanwhile, Enugu Rangers earned a second win of the season after securing a 1-0 victory against Katsina United at the Cathedral. Rangers’ goal came off the boot of Godwin Aguda in the 78th minute of the game.
In Ilorin, Kwara United picked their first win of the season following a 1-0 victory against Wikki Tourists. Stephen Alfred got the winning goal for Harmony Boys in the 14th minute.
In Damaturu, NPFL debutants Yobe Deserts bagged all three points against Lobi Stars. Chinedu Ohanachom was the hero for the Deserts after scoring in the sixth minute.
Go Round Fc and Heartland played out a 1-1 draw in Omoku.
The hosts opened scoring in the 11th minute through Solomon Nwachukwu, while Julius Ubido drew level for Heartland FC in the 53rd minute.
In Lagos, MFM FC outclassed FC Ifeanyi Ubah 2-1 at the Soccer Temple, Agege. The hosts took the lead in the 36th minute,  courtesy of a fine strike by new signing Jesse Akile, while Seka Pascal scored for the Anambra Warriors before the break.
The Olukoya Boys doubled their lead with an own goal through a Sikiru Olatobosun deflected shot.
Akwa United earned a 2-1 away win against hard-fighting Niger Tornadoes in Lokoja.
Dennis Nya opened scoring for the Promise Keepers from the spot in the 23rd minute, while Nosifu Afeez equalised for the hosts with an indirect free-kick before the break. Victor Mbaoma however won the game for the visitors with a super header.
Kano Pillars stunned Abia Warriors 2-1 at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano. Nyima Nwagua gave Sai Masu Gida the lead in the 28th minute, while Ndifreke Effiong drew level for the Warriors in the 59th minute. Junior Lokosa doubled the lead two minutes later, as he scored is fourth goal of the season.
In other fixtures, Sunshine Stars beat Rivers United 2-0 in Akure.
Yahuza Bala opened the floodgates for the Owena Waves in the 76th minute, while Joseph Sasere doubled the lead for the hosts in the 81st minute.
