Super Eagles’ striker, Odion Jude Ighalo continued from where he left off last season for his Chinese club, Changchun Yatai, as he put up a man of the match performance in a 3-0 drubbing of FC Sfintul Gheorghe in a preseason friendly played in Spain, reports.
Ighalo, who was Changchun’s top scorer last season, opened the scoring early in the first half to set his side on their way to a comfortable victory.
The Nigerian striker was again involved in the second goal after setting up his strike to put his side 2-0 up before the break.
The former Watford striker was however replaced just before the hour mark.
Speaking to after the game, Ighalo said he was happy to be back on the pitch of play after the break and wants to fully concentrate on getting fit ahead of the new season.
“It was a good game for us; although it was just a friendly game, I believe this kind of match will get the team into shape ahead of the new season.
“I just want to concentrate and have a good preseason and start the season on a high, hopefully we can better our previous achievement,” Ighalo said.
