After fulfilling its promise of hiring a world class coach for the Super Falcons of Nigeria, the Amaju Pinnick led board got the thumbs up from three- time African player of the year and Super Falcons’ star, Asisat Oshoala who hailed the Glass House for keeping to their promise of taking female football in the country to greater heights.
Oshoala, who was present at the unveiling ceremony in Abuja, told that it was a proud moment for her and female football in the country.
“I want to appreciate the leadership of the NFF for showing they have the Falcons at heart; this is a feat that will go a long way to help develope the game in the country.
“Its always a privilege for me to work with some of the best coaches in the world, and I am really happy about this development; overall its a great achievement for the team and we are excited to have him as our new coach,” Oshoala enthused.
The reigning African football queen also promised to give her total support to the coach and the team to ensure the country rules female football beyond the African continent.
“This year will be a busy year for the us as we have the WAFU Cup coming up soon and the qualifiers for the Nations Cup and then the Nations Cup proper; we want to try and retain the title we won in Cameroon but above all, the World Cup qualification is most Paramount.
“Hopefully, if we qualify for the World Cup, we can go there and make a difference because I believe we have the players and now the coaches that can take our football to greater heights,” Oshoala concluded.
