Ex-international, Mutiu Adepoju believes the Super Eagles’ new jersey will be a big morale booster at the World Cup in Russia, saying players always get motivated when they wear something comforting and befitting of their style.

Adepoju told in Abuja before the unveiling ceremony in London, that Jerseys  play significant role in a team, but not in a superstitious manner.

“It’s good the team will be getting a world class Jerseys worthy of all international standards and the World Cup is an event, not just on the field of player, but beyond the football field, so Jerseys are also very vital.

“Jerseys actually do play a big role in a team success in terms of image rights and players’ comfortability,” the former Green Eagles star said.

The former Real Sociedad star also posited that the idea of the 1994 design was a good one, but the players must work hard to surpass the success of the 1994 team.

“I am yet to see the jersey but, if it strikes a resemblance with the ’94 design, then it’s a good one, but the players must also do the playing on the field,” Adepoju concluded.
