Coach of El-Kanemi Warriors, Imama Amapakabo has played down insinuations that he would be emotional when his team faces his former club Rangers International in a Nigeria Professional Football League Match Day 8 fixture on Sunday, reports.
Coach Imama, who has been away on international duty with the Home-Based Eagles’ in the just concluded CHAN tournament in Morocco, said it is just another game and he has no sentiments attached to the match.
“Lovers of football should gear up for an exciting match but I have no sentiments attached to the game with my former club.
“There are always three results in a match- win, lose and a draw, and I’m always set to win. I always say that I have the most difficult job in the world because I have to transmit my thoughts to players to execute the match the way I want it,” Imama said.
Asked if the fact that he has not been with the team for a while, owing to national team engagements, Imama said he has always been in tune with his players and that would not be an issue.
“The fact that I have not been with the team for a while does not count because it’s my team and I know and understand them- and they understand me too. The game against Rangers to me is just another game which I intend to win,” Imama concluded.
Coach Imama returns to his former club Enugu Rangers on Sunday in a match that has been termed a cracker by followers of the League.
