The much-anticipated reception for the silver-winning members of the Home-Based Super Eagles of the recent CHAN tournament in Morocco has been on hold until further notice, can report.
The nation’s number one citizen Muhammadu Buhari was due to receive the players and officials during Wednesday’s Federal Executive Council meeting with members of his cabinet, however, due to the President’s tight schedule, the reception has now been shifted.
A close source revealed that the president will be away on official duties thus the reception had to be canceled.
“The reception for the CHAN Eagles by the President has been moved until further notice. The plan was for the team to be hosted during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Wednesday, but that will not be so now as the President is away on another state engagement,” the source said
Also, the planned reception by the Lagos State Government for the team has also been shelved and will only be staged after the presidential reception.
