Nigeria’s Flying Eagles are set to begin camping this week ahead of the Niger 2019 African Youth qualifiers in May after they were drawn bye for the first round fixture.
The team missed out on the last AYC in Zambia but are set to begin preparation in earnest for the tournament in Egypt later this month after the NFF’s approval.
This much was revealed to exclusively by the Technical Director of the Nigeria Football Federation, Coach Bitrus Bewarang who said the NFF is working round the clock to ensure the team gets the best preparation ahead of the qualifiers.
“As you know, we just appointed a coach and players were already invited to the camping phase. The team will open its camp this week, precisely on the 5th of March with the players expected to be in camp for two weeks.
“The NFF has already approved for the team to travel to Egypt to take part in an invitational tournament later this month, so bye and large, we are working hard with the coaches to ensure we put everything in place to ensure smooth qualifiers,” Bewarang concluded.
The Flying Eagles will play either Guinea Bissau or Sierra Leone in the second round of qualifiers in May.
