Ahead of the Super Eagles’ pre-world cup friendlies against Poland and Serbia, new invitee, Stephen Eze believes victory against the European sides will be a massive morale booster for the team as they begin their preparations towards the world cup in Russia.

The PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv of Bulgaria defender, who spoke to shortly after his arrival in Abuja, said he’s fully ready and prepared for the clash, stating that the Eagles can contain any threat posed by their opponents.

“I believe we are fully ready and prepared for the games, though it will be tough. I believe we have the players that can deliver us victory on match day.

“Yes, they have big players, but they will also be scared of us because the likes of Moses, Mikel and others have shown they can hold their own in the big leagues in Europe,” Eze said.

The former Kano Pillars’ defender further said that the team must be focused to ensure they come out victorious.

“No game is a small game, it’s just for us to be focused and achieve our aim because winning games like these will help boost our morale.

“When a team is winning, everything goes well and with the calibre of players we have, we can achieve victory,” Eze concluded.

Nigeria will square up against Poland in Wroclaw on March 23 before facing Serbia in London, four days later.
