Former Golden Eaglets’ manager, Emmanuel Amuneke returned his Sudanese side Al Khartoum Watani to winning ways as they edged out Hay Al Wadl 1-0 in a league match played on Wednesday, reports.
Al Khartoum, which lost their last game, controlled the match from start to finish and deservedly got their goal, three minutes to half time when Musa scored.
The win was a morale booster for Amuneke and his side who have now picked 9 points from a possible 12, after just picking 2 points from their opening 3 games.
After the game, Amuneke said that he was happy with his youthful side’s performance as they hope to keep getting better game by game.
“I’m happy with our performance today; we really controlled the match and we deserve the victory.
“Most of our players are from our youth team but they are adapting quickly to the game and our system of play,” Amunike concluded.
