Ahead of his side’s CAF Confederations Cup first round 2nd leg tie against Libya’s Al-Ittihad, Akwa United Coach, Abdul Maikaba as declared an all-out attack against the Libyans as they seek to overturn the 1-0 loss suffered in the first leg in Tunis.

The Flying Eagles’ gaffer, who spoke to exclusively in Abuja, said his team is fully prepared for all the antics Al-Ittihad will throw at them.

“We have put the first leg results behind us already and are preparing so well to make sure we get a goal as early as possible and settle all nerves.

“I know they will come with a compact defence of wanting to sit back and catch us on the counter because they think we maybe desperate, but that won’t be the case,” Maikaba said.

The 2017 Aiteo Cup winner further said that his side must be calm on the ball, whilst urging fans of Akwa United to come out en mass and be the 12th man on the pitch.

“I have told my players they must be calm and play our own type of football, but you will see the sense of urgency in us.

“I also want to urge the spectators to come out and support us because they will be our 12th player of the day,” Maikaba concluded.

Akwa United will look to overturn their first-leg deficit when Al-Ittihad visit the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on Sunday, with kickoff put at 4pm Nigerian time
