Super Eagles’ star, Ahmed Musa scored his first competitive goal for CSKA Moscow as they overturned a 1-0 loss suffered in the Europa League first-leg round of 16 clashes against Olympique Lyon in France, reports.

With Lyon winning the first leg last week in Moscow, it was going to be almost an impossible task for the visitors to progress, however, they soon found their self in front six minutes to half-time when Aleksandr Golovin put CSKA in front thus balancing the tie on aggregate.

The second half resumed with the home team piling up the pressure and they found the equalizer when Maxwell Cornet fired pass the CSKA goalkeeper.

Down but not yet out, CSKA turned the tie in their favour with two quickfire goals from Ahmed Musa and Pontus Wernbloom put them 3-1 up in the 65th minute.

With 20 minutes left to play, Mariano Diaz halved the deficit for Lyon but it was not enough as CSKA Moscow qualified on away goals rule after the tie ended 3-3 on aggregate.

Musa, who was on for 73 minutes, had a game rating of 7.0, while also completing 73% of his passes to help his side reach the last eight of Europe’s second-tier club competition.
