Nigeria’s representatives in the CAF Champions League, Plateau United failed to progress to the group stages on Sunday despite their 1-0 win against Etoile Du Sahel in the second leg game played at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, reports.

Plateau United lost the first leg 4-2 in Tunisia a fortnight ago and needed at least a 2-0 win to qualify in the second leg.

Tosin Omoyele scored the only goal for the Peace Boys in the 25th minute but it was not enough to see the NPFL champions through.

Plateau United have now dropped to the play-offs of the CAF Confederations Cup where they will hope to reach the group stages of the second-tier CAF club competition.
