Akwa United capped a great day for Nigerian clubs on the continent as they secured their passage into the next round of the CAF Confederations Cup after defeating Al-Ittihad of Libya 3-2 in the second leg tie on penalties after the game ended 1-0 in favour of the Promise Keepers, AOIFootball.com

Al-Ittihad were reduced to 10-men when Abdullah Abdelsalam pushed the referee after a decision went against them, another player Alaquob Adelsalam was also red carded for the same offence.
