Super Eagles really need the experience and intelligence of Captain Mikel John Obi

Super Eagles’ Captain, John Mikel Obi has confirmed he will miss the international friendly against Serbia on due to circumstances beyond his control, reports.

The former Chelsea star, who sat out last Friday’s friendly win against Poland due to work permit issues, was hoping he could settle the issue before Tuesday’s game, but it is now confirmed he will miss the game.

“Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond my control, I will not be on the field for our game against Serbia tomorrow (Tuesday). I am sad, and frustrated, but giving my full support to the team for another WIN! #SoarSuperEagles,” Mikel posted.

The Tianjin Teda midfielder made his debut against Libya in 2005 and has been a super regular with the Eagles with 82 caps and 6 goals.
