Super Eagles’ vice-captain, Eddie Ogenyi Onazi has called for calm among fans after fans questioned the Eagles’ not too convincing performance in their 1-0 win over Poland in an international friendly on Friday.
The former Lazio midfielder explained to AOIFootball.com from the Eagles’ base in London, that the team needed to play cautiously, whilst promising a much better outing against Serbia on Tuesday.
“Well, I will not want to complain about the pitch but it was one of the factors. So, when I came in, we tried to bring tranquility to the team and we had to run a lot to stabilize everything. But as the game moved on we improved.
“The coach was trying some players for the first time- Joel Obi and the other guys but as time goes on I believe we will blend well,” Onazi said, adding that, the game against Serbia will be different.
“We are well prepared for the game against Serbia and I believe it will be a different match entirely compared to the Poland clash. Hopefully, we will control the game more and attack from all angles.”
