Super Eagles’ Assistant Captain, Ogenyi Onazi is of the opinion that it does not matter whether the team wins or loses games as the preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup continues and that the Gernot Rohr-tutored side is making progress.

The Trabzonspor of Turkey hard-working midfielder, who is expected to lead the Eagles in Tuesday night’s test game against the Serbian national team, believes there is a huge improvement in the team’s play, character, psyche, and tactics which will be more obvious when the World Cup kicks off in June.

“A lot of people will not see that we have improved in all areas and I must say, we are a better team than before.  I believe we are making progress,” he told AOIFootball.com exclusively from the team’s camp in London.

The former Lazio of Italy player also pointed out that teams now respect the Eagles, a development he believes is good for the team.

The match between Nigeria and Serbia at the Hive Stadium will kickoff at 8 pm Nigerian time.
