Super Eagles’ striker, Kayode Olanrewaju made a dream start to life in Ukraine as he came off the bench to put the icing on the cake for Shakhtar Donetsk in their 3-0 win away at Zorya Luhansk, reports.
The on-loan Manchester City forward, who joined the Ukrainian outfit last month, had to do with a place in the bench as he watched his side race to a two-goal lead with Taison (41) and Facundo Ferreyra (61) ensuring the points where safe for the away side.
Kayode was introduced for goal scorer Facundo in the first minute of added time and scored three minutes later with his first touch after converting from Dentinho’s pass to score his first league goal in over six months.
The goal will however boost the confidence of the former Eagles’ invitee who will hope to lay a stake to the world cup squad of Gernot Rohr in the coming months.
