Ahead of his side’s CAF Confederations Cup first leg final round clash against Nigeria’s Akwa United, Al Hilal of Sudan goal poacher, Azeez Shobowale has expressed calm ahead of the clash in Omdurman, whilst insisting they are fully ready for the clash.

The former Kano Pillars’ attacker, who spoke to from his team’s base in Sudan, said although the match will be an emotional one for him, his team must get the result right in the first leg in Omdurman.

“I wouldn’t want to talk much about this game because I know it won’t be an easy one. Akwa United are a tough team and we have seen some of their clips, so we must be careful with our approach against them.

“Personally, it will be an emotional match for me because I will be facing my country, but as a professional, I just have to stay focused and do my job and ensure my team comes out victorious,” Shobowale said.

Al Hilal will come into the clash without their Brazilian coach who was fired last weekend, and the former CHAN Eagles player believes that will not affect their confidence as they look to clinch a convincing win heading into the second leg in Uyo.

“I believe we can cope as a team without our former coach because we are all professionals; what is important for all of us is to beat them well in Sudan and go to Nigeria with a healthy lead that can take us into the group stage. It won’t be easy but we are up to the task,” Shobowale concluded.
