After returning to full training with Anderlecht over the weekend, Super Eagles’ forward, Henry Onyekuru has targeted the forthcoming clash against Standard Liege as a perfect time to return to action, stating he is taking it step by step to avoid a relapse of the injury.

The on-loan Everton striker, who gracefully avoided surgery after his injury last December, spoke to exclusively from his base in Belgium, saying he is now keen to get back to goalscoring form as soon as possible to ensure Anderlecht finishes as champions after the playoff round.

“I’m very happy to be back here at Anderlecht; everybody was happy for my comeback after escaping surgery and they all hope I get the form back.

“We are playing on Friday but the game is too soon for me, hopefully in two weeks’ time, I should get a chance to feature for the first time,” Onyekuru added.

When quizzed if he still can bang in the goals for his side, the former AS Eupen striker said that he will continue to work hard and take every game as it comes.
