Plateau United Head Coach, Kennedy Boboye has denied ever rejecting the Assistant National U-23 coaching role offered him by the Nigeria Football Federation, AOIFootball.com can authoritatively report.
A report filtered in early Monday morning that a source close to the former Super Eagles’ player purportedly revealed that the Ondo State-born tactician has turned down the offer and will only take the job as Head Coach.
But Boboye has denied ever telling anyone he was not pleased with the appointment and will not honour it.
“I have not told anyone I will not take the job. In fact, I would prefer if such a source is named. I have been concentrating on my club and our engagements and I don’t think I have had the time to think, let alone talk about my national team job,” he said.
Boboye was a few months ago named as one of the assistant coaches to Coach Salisu Yusuf and Imama for the next national U-23 team.
Their assignment is billed to start later in the year with the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifiers which begins early next year.
