Former home-based Super Eagles’ captain, Chima Akas was a happy man on Sunday after Kalmar FF beat IF Elfsborg 1-0 in the Swedish League to earn their first win of the season, reports.
A Papa Diouf early first-half strike was all the home team needed to earn their first three points after losing their first game of the season by the same scoreline.
After the game, Akas, who was on for all 90 minutes, told exclusively that he was happy to get another 90 minutes, whilst insisting his side will build on the win.
“Well, it was a good game for us. I want to dedicate this victory to God and the fans; hopefully, we can build on this and continue to win games. But overall, I am very happy with the result,” Akas said.
The former Enyimba left-back had a game rating of 6.6, completing 75% of his passes, made 5 clearances, 2 interceptions, 2 tackles and won 3 duels contested.
