Super Eagles’ vice-captain Eddie Ogenyi Onazi is set to miss up to two weeks of action for his club Trabzonspor after being stretched off in their 4-0 bashing of Kayserispor on Saturday, can authoritatively confirm.
The former Lazio midfielder, who confirmed this news to exclusively, said a heavy schedule of training led to the injury and Nigerians should not be worried as he would be back on the pitch in about 10 days.
“Yes I am fine, the injury is not too serious as first feared. Guess I need to relax some of the personal trainings I do. But in 10 days‘ time I should be back on the pitch,” Onazi said.
Onazi has featured 18 times this season in the Turkish League, starting 14 of those games, scoring twice and creating one assist. He has also averages 81% pass completion per game.
Defensively, the Eagles’ midfielder has an average of 2.0 tackles per game, 1.2 interceptions, while also completing 91% of his dribbles.
