Super Eagles’ skipper, John Obi Mikel scored his first goal in the Chinese Super League when his club Tianjin Teda came from behind to defeat Guangzhou R&F 2-2-1, reports.
Searching for their second win of the season, Teda fell behind after just 18 minutes when Zhizhao Chen opened scoring after rounding off the goalkeeper to put the away side ahead.
With Teda looking for an equalizer, Mikel scored in style after tussling with the defender before cheekily putting the ball in the net to draw his side level in the 27th minute.
Tianjin then turned the match on its head when Jiakang Hui headed in Frank Acheampong’s corner to seal all three points for Teda.
Mikel was on for all 90 minutes with a game rating of 7.2, completing 83%, making 2 key passes, winning 5 duels, and making 3 clearances and winning 1 tackle.
The win moves Teda to the 8th position with 8 points from 6 games.
