Super Eagles’ striker, Odion Jude Ighalo was in a world of his own as he scored four goals for Changchun Yatai when they brushed aside Guizhou Hengfeng 5-2 away from home in the Chinese Super League, reports.
The Eagles’ striker opened the scoring after 24 minutes when he stepped up to convert a penalty. However, they were pecked back nine minutes later when Wei Du equalized for the hosts.
Long Tan then put Changchun back in front in the 35th minute before Ighalo scored his second of the match, three minutes later after being set up by Long Tan to give his side a 3-1 lead going into the break.
The second half started like the first but it was the home team who pulled one back on the hour mark when Fan Wang reduced the deficit for Hengfeng before Ighalo restored their two-goal lead with his first hat-trick of the season after being put clean on goal by Masse Vive.
There was still time for a landmark goal for the former Watford striker as he scored his fourth of the match in added time to send Changchun into a party celebration as they returned to winning ways.
Ighalo, who was on for the entire match duration, had a game rating of 10.0, scored four from his four shots on target, created on big chance, completed 62% of his passes and won four duels in the match.
