Onyekuru in action for the Super Eagles last November
RSC Anderlecht of Belgium striker, Henry Onyekuru has said he is ready to fight for a place in Coach Gernot Rohr’s provisional 35-man list, insisting he has what it takes to deliver for the country in Russia come June.
The 20-year- old attacker, who disclosed this to shortly after his side’s training on Monday, confirmed his return to full fitness and readiness to lead Anderlecht to playoffs glory.
“Going to the World Cup will be a dream come true for me; the last three years have been awesome for me personally. I have learnt on the game and I know I am fully ready for the big stage. But you know I can’t obviously decide that.
“As a young boy growing up, playing in the World Cup has always been my dream, but I am just returning from injury so I need to prove my fitness to the coach and start scoring as soon as possible,” Onyekuru said.
The on-loan Everton striker further disclosed that if he’s selected, he will definitely give his all to help the team succeed in Russia.
“If I am selected for the World Cup I will definitely give my 100 percent when asked to come in. Of course, I will try to score goals and fight as a team,” Onyekuru concluded.
