Former Barcelona B youth player, Ezekiel Bassey is set to rejoin Aiteo Cup champions Akwa United ahead of the second stanza of the league, AOIFootball.com can confirm.
The former NPFL All Stars player joined Barcelona on loan from Enyimba in January 2017, then moved to Iranian league outfit Pyakan after failing to convince the handlers of Barcelona to hand him a permanent deal. He will now relaunch his career at his first club Akwa United.
“For now nothing is going on but I have already decided to join Akwa United ahead of the second round of the league,” Ezekiel told AOIFootball.com.
Ezekiel made his name in the NPFL when he led Enyimba to their 7th league triumph in the 2014-2015 season. He also made his debut for Nigeria in a World Cup qualifier against Swaziland in November 2015.
