Former Flying Eagles’ gaffer, John Sam Obuh, has made a case for Kasimpasa of Turkey defender, Kenneth Omeruo, saying he should be considered as a starter for the national team because he is arguably one of the best legs the country can boast of right now, AOIFootball.com reports.
The former Kwara United coach, who was speaking on the backdrop of another injury to current first choice defender Leon Balogun, told AOIFootball.com that Omeruo has all it takes to step in and fill that shoe.
“I have always believed in Omeruo since he grew up playing in the various youth teams and also featured in the world cups. However, Awaziem is good but he lacks experience,” Obuh said.
The former national team handler further posited that an invite for former Rizespor of Turkey defender, Godfrey Oboabona won’t be a bad option, considering he could add experience cover for the national team.
“I also think Oboabona will be a good addition to the team because in the past they have shown they can be relied upon. So, I will choose Kenneth and Oboabuna,” Obuh concluded.
