Man on fire, Odion Ighalo netted four times against Guizhou Zhicheng at the weekend

Super Eagles’ and Changchun Yatai forward, Odion Ighalo, continued his mesmerizing form in front of goal as he scored twice in his side’s 2-1 win over table toppers, Shanghai SIPG in the Chinese Super League, reports.

The former Watford of England striker, who hit four goals last week, continued from where he stopped when he opened the scoring for Yatai after being set up by Zha Jiang in the 14th minute.

Yatai were however pecked backed four minutes to half-time when the league’s top scorer Lei Wu equalized to bring scores at 1-1 going into the break.

Nigeria’s Ighalo then scored what proved to be the winner 20 minutes from time when he collected a pass from Marinho to slot home and hand Changchun Yatai their second consecutive win of the season, thus ending Shanghai SIPG unbeaten start to the CSL season.

Ighalo was on for the entire match duration and scored twice from his three shots on target, whilst also hitting the woodwork once. He also completed 80% of his passes, won 4 duels and made two key passes.

With his brace, Ighalo has now scored 7 goals in 8 matches and looks set to be well on course to break his last season’s tally of 15 goals.
