Super Eagles’ Head Coach, Gernot Rohr has praised his team’s second-half display as the turning point in their 2-0 triumph against Iceland, reports.

Speaking at the post-match conference which was covered live by in Volgograd, Rohr further praised the Iceland team for putting up a fair fight in a nervy that saw both sides miss scoring opportunities.

“It was a very good win for us; they were better in the first half but did not score and that helped us better going into the second half of the match.

“In the second half, it was a different team because we realized that at halftime we needed to get quicker without movement and turn our possession into scoring goals which we did,” Rohr said.

“For me, I want to thank the Iceland team for their fairness and attitude because they came out and played well even when they were losing and it showed how professional they played,” Rohr concluded.
