Ahead of their final win or bust game against the Albiceleste of Argentina on Tuesday, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will on Sunday afternoon depart their Essentuki base and fly out to St. Petersburg where they will play their last group D game, AOIFootball.com can confirm.
The Eagles returned from Volgograd early hours of Saturday morning and held a light training session later in the evening, however with a long journey ahead of them the Eagles will depart Essentuki at around 3pm local time.
The team will fly a distance of 3 hours while it won’t be the same for fans, or journalists who will be looking for alternative means by bus or train which could take them almost two days to arrive in St.Petersburg with a duration of 44 hours by road.
Nigeria will confront two-times champions Argentina inarguably both sides biggest match of the year with contrasting legacy on the line, as a win for the young Nigerian team could usher in a new era for Nigerian football, whilst defeat for Argentina will bring a sad end to Lionel Messi’s career at international level.
