*Resumes preseason training with club

Super Eagles’ winger, Moses Simon has said he still remains a KAA Gent player, despite interest from the Liverpool prior to the World Cup, can authoritatively confirm.

Resuming full training later on Tuesday with Gent, the 22-year-old winger, who missed FIFA World Cup in Russia due to injury, said he is looking forward to a more explosive season regardless of where he plays next season.

“Well, for now, I’m still a player of KAA Gent; obviously, there was interest from Liverpool but nothing is concrete for now.

“I’m currently in Holland with the rest of the squad and we are getting ready for the new season. We have a game against PAOK in two days; hopefully, I might play in that one,” Simon revealed.

According to reports in early June, Liverpool was interested in paying a £10m fee for Simon as he has just one year left on his contract at Gent.

The Nigeria international was a standout performer in the Belgian First Division last season and he looks to have caught the eye of Jurgen Klopp.
