19-year-old Nigerian striker, Adeleke Akinola Akinyemi was in a league of his own as he went goal crazy on Thursday night, scoring four goals for FK Ventspils in their 5-0 trouncing of Albanian side Luftetari Gjirokaster in their Europa League first round, first leg clash, reports.

Akinola, who has been a revelation for the Latvian side since making his debut in 2017, got his first of four goals just eight minutes into the clash when he converted from 12 yards to put his side one goal up.

Four minutes later, the youngster was at it again when he got his brace after collecting a delightful pass from former U-17 world cup winner Abdullahi Alfa, before completing his hat-trick just before the half-hour mark.

With the away side unable to withstand Akinola and his teammates, another Nigerian Tosin Aiyegun made it 4-0 after 37 minutes before Akinola put the icing on the cake with his fourth and Ventspils’ fifth in the 43rd minute.

The second half produced a rather drabbed performance from both sides as FK Ventspils held on to their five-goal advantage heading into the second leg in Albania next week.

At 19 Akinola is arguable one of the most prolific attackers in Latvia, netting 10 times in 23 games last season and is currently the joint top scorer in the league this season with 8 goals from just 13 outings.
