Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Heartland FC of Owerri have started enjoying the benefits of their technical partnership with Turkish outfit, Boluspor FC earlier in the season.
The Naze Millionaires, who currently occupy the basement of the nation’s elite league table, left the shores of the country for Turkey a few days ago, as part of the technical pact signed by both clubs in January.
According to the General Manager of the club, Hon. Goodfaith Etuemena, the arrangement is expected to see the two sides exchange both playing and coaching staff, in order to offer the Owerri-based side the platform for development and exposure in several facets.
“The partnership we have with Boluspor Football Club is more of a technical arrangement that offers us a lot of dividends in the management of club football.
“Our current playing tour of Turkey is part of it, where we have a chance to give our players the much-needed exposure,” he concluded.
It would be recalled that the emergence of Mehmet Tayfun as the Technical Adviser of Heartland FC earlier in the season was one of the blessings of the partnership with the Turkish side.
The team has so far played three matches on the tour, beating Osmanlispor 3-1, having beaten Iranian side, Tractor Sazi FC 1-0 and Boluspor FC 4-1 before now.
According to reports from the camp of the Naze Millionaires, the team is scheduled to play two more matches against Karabukspor FC of Turkey and a Premiership side from Ukraine before returning on time to confront Yobe Desert Stars of Damaturu, in a Match Day 25 encounter of the Nigeria Professional Football League.
