Super Eagles’ striker, Odion Jude Ighalo is expected to return to Chinese club Changchun Yatai this weekend ahead of their league clash next weekend, can confirm authoritatively.
Ighalo, who was largely criticised for the Eagles’ World Cup exit following his not too convincing display against Argentina, has, however, put that behind him as he hopes to become Yatai’s record goalscorer and fire them to a respectable position in the league.
Prior to the FIFA World Cup, the striker went goal crazy in the CSL, netting seven goals in April, including equaling the record for most goals in a single CSL match (4), scored against Guangzhou Hengfeng, thus earning him the best player for the month of April.
The former Watford striker has however apologised to Nigerians for his poor performance and will be looking forward to improving in the new season as he is just 8 goals shy of matching last season’s haul of 15 league goals.
