Man on fire, Odion Ighalo netted four times against Guizhou Zhicheng at the weekend

Super Eagles’ striker, Odion Jude Ighalo once again showed he still has the killer instinct in him as he returned to the Chinese Super League in sleek fashion after netting his eight goal of the season in Changchun Yatai’s 2-1 win against Chongqing SWM away from home, reports.

The former Watford striker put Nigeria’s World Cup exit behind him as he led Changchun Yatai out for their match day 12 fixture on Tuesday afternoon.

However, it was the home team who drew first blood after just six minutes when Sebá opened the scoring before Ighalo showed why he’s Africa’s most lethal striker in China when he equalised in the 20th minute to draw the game level going into the halftime break.

Ighalo was presented with another chance three minutes into the second half but was denied by a last-minute interception before a Yongzhe Cui’s own goal, five minutes before the hour mark sealed all three points for Changchun Yatai.

The Eagles’ No.9 was on for the entire match duration as he captained his side to yet another victory, completing 87% of his passes whilst also finishing with a game rating of 7.4.

The win leaves Yatai on 12th on the log with 14 points after playing 12 matches in the CSL.
