Super Eagles’ left-back, Elderson Echiejile has returned to French club AS Monaco after a successful loan spell at Dutch side Cercle Brugge, with the player still unsure of where he would be playing next season, can confirm.

The former Bendel Insurance star joined AS Monaco in January 2014 and had a successful time with the team until a change in backroom staff forced the club to loan him out. He has since being loaned out to Standard Liege, Sporting Gijon, Sivasspor, and most recently Cercle Brugge in the past 3 seasons.

Echiejile became a free agent early this month after his contract with AS Monaco expired and is currently training at the club to keep fit as he decides on where he will lace his boots in the coming season.

Having tested football in Portugal, France, and Turkey, it’s still not clear if the 30-year-old will want to remain in mainstream Europe or fancy a move to the Far East.
