Super Eagles’ duo of Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho have both expressed optimism of ahead of Leicester City’s opening Premier League fixture this Friday away at Manchester United after wrapping up their preseason with a comeback 2-1 win over Lille in France, reports.

Both players, who were given extended breaks following their participation at last month FIFA World Cup in Russia, returned to feature in games against Udinese, Valencia and Lille Metropole.

Ndidi has been a revelation since his arrival in the winter of 2017 and will be hoping to even do better than last season after finishing as the league’s top tackler and one of the best in Europe’s top five leagues combined.

“A good way to end preseason, looking forward to the main business,” Ndidi had posted.

Iheanacho on his part will hope his second season with the Foxes will be more memorable following a mix debut season where he failed to tie down a regular playing shirt.

However, after a positive preseason which as seen the Nigerian striker net four times in just 3 matches, it’s very clear the former U-17 World Cup Golden Ball winner will be in for a much improved second season with the former Premier League champions.

With Jamie Vardy a strong doubt for the clash against Manchester United on Friday night at the Old Trafford, Claude Puel will have to put is faith in the club’s most in-form player to lead the line.

Good to end the preseason with a win hope, we reflect that in the upcoming games,” Iheanacho posted.
