After being crowned the best player for the month of July in the Latvia Virsliga, Nigerian forward, Akinyemi Adeleke believes his hard work on the pitch was very instrumental to the award, whilst also thanking his family and friends for helping him claim the monthly accolade, AOIFootball.com reports.

The 19-year-old striker, who is on the radar of Eagles’ Coach Gernot Rohr, told AOIFootball.com in an exclusive interview shortly after receiving the award, that it was an honour for him and he would continue to give his best.

“It’s a good feeling when you receive such an award because it is not easy. It means a lot to me and it shows my efforts are being considered.

“I want to thank my teammates, my family, and friends for this achievement because they all supported me throughout the cause of the month and I’m happy I did not disappoint them,” Akinyemi stated.

The in-form striker scored four goals in the month of July to claim the monthly award as also remains the league’s top scorer with 13 goals, four ahead of the duo of Girts Karlsons and Janis Ikaunieks who both have 9 goals respectively.
