Fresh from receiving his first full senior national team call-up, former U-17 World Cup-winning captain, Kelechi Nwakali has admitted that he’s still over the moon on his invitation, reports.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder told exclusively, shortly after receiving the news of his invitation, that he will savour the moment and not disappoint Nigerians if given the opportunity to play on match day.

“Honestly, I can’t really explain the way I feel right now, because this has been my dream ever since I became a footballer. Graduating from the U-17 to the U-20 and now the Super Eagles. I believe it will only get better for me.

“I just want to use this opportunity to thank the coaches for trusting and deeming it fit for me to be invited, and to everyone out there who made this a possibility, I promise not to disappoint you all,” Nwakali enthused.

The Porto midfielder will certainly offer Coach Gernot Rohr more options in the midfield, with the player more of an advanced midfielder, especially considering the absence of captain Mikel John Obi for the clash.
