Super Eagles’ and Galatasaray of Turkey forward, Henry Onyekuru believes his club stands a strong chance of making it out of the group stages of the Champions League after being drawn in Group D on Thursday, AOIFootball.com reports.
The in-form striker, who has been tipped to lead the Turkish champions to glory in this season’s UEFA Champions League, told AOIFootball.com exclusively after the draw, that it was a fair one for him compared to last year when he was with Anderlecht.
“I’m very happy with the draw because I believe we are in a very fair group. The whole team is happy and hopefully, we will take something out of it.
“Last season it was difficult with Anderlecht because we had PSG and Bayern Munich but this time around we can progress beyond the group stage,” an upbeat Onyekuru said.
The former Eupen striker further added that he is looking forward to the possibilities of facing fellow Nigerians Bryan Idowu, Kelechi Nwakali and Yahaya Muhammad in the competition.
Galatasaray are drawn in Group D alongside Lokomotiv Moscow, FC Porto and Schalke 04.
