Former Nigeria international, Michael Babatunde has hailed strike partner Gabriel Okechukwu after both players linked up well for Wydad Athletic Club in their first game of the season against Olympic Safi, AOIFootball.com reports.
Babatunde, 25, joined Wydad on a free transfer this summer after leaving Qatari club Qatar SC and is already helping Wydad to earn a place in the quarterfinals of this season’s Champions League.
“It’s always a nice feeling when you play alongside your fellow countryman. Gabriel is a fantastic player and I hope we can form a deadly partnership here in Morocco. We linked up well on Friday against Olympic Safi but unfortunately, we lost the game.
“Hopefully, we can bounce back in our next game and try to win our Champions League game on Friday,” Babatunde said.
